To even the most ardent hoops junkies, UNLV's Shawn Marion and Maryland's Steve Francis remain only names on the Internet or blurbs in their college hoops preview issues. If the Guru's are to be believed, however, come March, both men will undoubtedly make their mark on the college game.

Marion is a dominant 6'7 SF slasher who lead Vincennes University to the NJCAA tournament and was named NJCAA Male Student Athlete of the year. Though sidelined recently with an irregular heartbeat, he is back on track and most expect him to lead the Running Rebels in scoring and head off to the NBA as a lottery pick come spring.

2500 miles away, Steve Francis has people in College Park talking title run. A great combo guard, Francis has received national attention as one of the top Division I players in the Nation.

The question then must be asked: How could two players with such obvious skill escape the recruiting drag net when they graduated from high school? With all the schemes available to D1 coaches couldn't they have gone in as a partial qualifier or prepped a year at MCI? And, if these guys were so good why didn't the average hoops fans hear about them before last fall? In a way that is the very reason we have created Juco.com. We are going to bring you the JC action when its happening and not just as these guys are signing with D1 teams.

Give us a little time but hopefully we will give hoops fans all of the information they can handle - quality games, players and coaches around the country will not escape our eye.

Stay tuned, and get back to us.

Hey, and if you hear about some player at Butte Junior College or some minor JC across the land? Drop us a note we'll look into him.
